Conference Champs!

The year of 2005 was spent as a nomadic tribe.  We couldn't host meets because our track was not safe.  The surface was so old a person could pick it up and crawl under it.  The Gus Scott meet was held at WVHS.  The conference meet was at North Central College.  Handling the adversity well was a tribute to the entire team.

 

The conference meet was an incredible experience because NCC proved a remarkable site to host the DVC.  After the morning was spent measuring the track for the 300 hurdle race (which we didn't score in) and lining the field for shot and disc we were ready to go.  We finished 2nd at Sectionals hosted at Minooka High School.  The team tent was strategically located 200 feet from any other team.  High winds were the reason for the placement.
